Unlocking the secrets of Gem Stones

As a jewelry designer, my work extends far beyond sketching elegant outline and shaping precious metals. The true heart of any piece lies in the gemstone it holds. In Myanmar traditional, natural gems were simply part of daily life. We learned to love them by eye and by heritage.

However, moving from a gem enthusiast to a professional jewelry designer requires a whole new layer of precision. Understanding optical physics helps me select stones that reflect light beautifully, bringing out the maximum brilliance in a design.Every gemstone has unique physical properties—some are brittle, others heat-sensitive. Knowing their exact nature dictates how I can safely set, mount, and protect them during the bench-crafting process.Studying gemology bridges the gap between raw nature and refined art. It allows me to create pieces that aren't just visually stunning, but crafted with structural integrity, absolute authenticity, and lasting value.
