Burmese Courtly Necklace (Da-li-zan)

This exquisite jewelry design emerged in the mid-19th century in Mandalay under the royal patronage of the Konbaung Dynasty (1752–1885). It incorporated the royal symbolism of the peacock to signify courtly rank, royal lineage, and political authority. The elegant lattice structure (Da-li-zan) and its kinetic, trembling (le-ton) elements were designed to mimic the fresh flowers traditionally worn by Burmese women.
